Easily my favourite portable drive
I’ve owned dozens of portable drives and so far this one is the best. It’s small and extremely lightweight (just a little larger than an ipod), looks fairly stylish, and best of all- doesn’t require an external power source. Just plug it in to any powered USB port via standard mini USB cable and you’re in business. And for the price, you’re not going to find a much bigger drive.As for the software, Toshiba HDDR640E04XR is naturally very basic but this is true of any bundled/pre-installed software I’ve seen. However, there is a very easy-to-use interface that guides even the most novice of users through choosing what and when to backup. It even has an easy full system restore setting and allows you to encrypt your data with a password- very important for portable drives. Transfer speeds are also very good, so you won’t find yourself waiting endlessly for files to transfer. I’m so pleased with this drive, I plan to purchase at least two more, if for no other reason than to stock up. After all, given the excellence of the product combined with the great price, this device is an incredible value!
